Cliff Walk repairs, Newport Rhode Island, Venue, Bed and Breakfast, Hotel, Lodging, Newport / Middletown Rhode Island, Villa 120

Cliff walk repairs could exceed $6.8 M!

Work to repair the city's fabled Cliff Walk is estimated to cost at least $6.8 million.

According to state transprtation officials, bids to reair the scenic trail ranged from $6.8 to $17 million.  The work is needed to repair a large section of the walkway that was damaged during Hurricane Sandy last October.

Guests visiting, please note proper walking shoes are needed if you still wish to complete the Cliff Walk - I tend to walk it once a week and although a small section is closed off and the walk can become a small climb here and there and stepping over very large rocks it is doable - but not for the faint hearted - walkers, trekkers and climbers will love it - I do!

Whilst staying here just ask me about the route so you actually can complete it - there is a route but you do need to know where to go.
