Newport Antique Show at St. George's School July 25th-28th

A benefit for the Newport Historical Society and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Newport County. It was originally established in 2007, The Newport Antiques Show is one of the nation’s premier antiques venues presenting a wide selection of important Americana antiques. Over forty of the country’s top dealers will present paintings, furniture, folk art, jewelry, and fine and decorative arts. Show Manager Diana H. Bittel, who is a distinguished antiques dealer and annual exhibitor, hand selects each dealer. Anne F. Hamilton of Newport and Philadelphia returns as Chair of the Show and Gala Preview Party. Honorary Chairs include Mrs. Samuel M.V. Hamilton, Mrs. Robert H. Charles and Mrs. John R. Donnell.

Hours: Friday and Saturday, 10am to 6pm; Sunday 10am to 4pm. Gala Preview Party on Thursday, July 25 from 6- 9. Location: St. George’s School, Purgatory Road, Middletown.

Newport Music Festival Continues!

The Newport Music Festival continues to impress!  Concerts are scheduled every day at various locations around Newport, today through Sunday July 28th.

The 45th annual season continues today, Sunday July 14th at 11am with Bon Matin, a festival salute to Bastille Day at the Elms Tent.  At 4 pm musical icon Robert Schumann will perform Schumann Fantasy, also at the Elms tent. The Argentinean organist  Hector  Olivera will perform at 8pm this evening at The Breakers, concluding the first week of the Music Festival.

Tomorrow, July 15th at 11am at The Elms a recital will be put on by Scott Cuellar, Festival's Young-Artist-of-The-Year.  At 4pm the second series of the Verdi-Wagner Concert will take place at the CCRI Newport Auditorium.  The day will conclude with Vassily Primakov in Recital, an all-chopin concert by the award winning artist himself.

Tennis Hall of Fame Newport RI - July 8 - 14 2013 - Villa 120 Boutique Hotel Newport RI

Tennis at the Newport Casino has been one of the Newport's grandest traditions since the first US National Championships were played here in 1881.

In 2013, the tradition continues.  During July 8 - 14, the International Tennis Hall of Fame will host the 2013 Hall of Fame Tennis Championships.  The tournament draws 32 top male players to Newport direct from Wimbledon to compete for the Van Alen Cup and $455,775 in prize money.

This year's player field is one of the strongest in recent history and will feature defending champion and world No. 20 John Isner, Australian tennis great and former world No. 1 Leyton Hewitt, former world No. 4 James Blake and 2009 finalist and six-time chamption on the ATP World Tour Sam Querrey.

Complementing this exciting week of ATP World Tour tennis will be the Hall of Fame Class of 2013 Enshrinement Ceremony on Saturday, July 13 at 12.00 p.m.  The ceremony will honor former world No. 1 Martina Hingis, as well as Australian tennis legend Thelma Coyne Long, tennis promoter and industry leader Charlie Pasarell, longtime ESPN tennis broadcaster Cliff Drysdale and Romanian tennis great Ion Tiriac.
