Music by Newport Concert Band, led by Peter Davis
Traditional reading of the Declaration of Independence by Walter Whitley (this will be the 235th reading).
Complimentary American Flags and free booklet edition of the declaration of Independence to all attendees
Also special graveside salute to Newporter William Rllery who signed the Declaration of Independence. (Common burying ground - Farewell Street).
The Artillery Company of Newport will fire a cannon salute at noon.
Museum of Newport History, 127 Thames St. Newport 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. A new exhibit, "The Greatest Trial: Lincoln, Newport and the Civil War" will feature Civil War - era artifacts and photographs from the society's collections.
FIREWORKS - Over Newport Harbor, Newport, 9.30 p.m. Fireworks will be set off from Fort Adams State Park. (Rain date July 5) www.fortadams.org
