This is a town that lives up to its name, located in the middle of Aquidneck Island between Portsmouth and Newport. There is a cluttered retail presence along West Main Road, but off the main drags, this little town is a gem bounded by water on three sides and with plenty to occupy visitors of all ages. There are plenty of places to stay, eat, and shop, and recreational opportunities abound, on land, sea, and even in the sky above.

Today I attended a meeting at the Rhode Island Wedding Group, where I met many lovely sponsors for bridal parties and weddings. Jessica & Juan's Wedding, Rehearsal Dinners, Wedding and Bridal Venue, Bed and Breakfast, Hotel, Lodging, Newport / Middletown Rhode Island, Villa 120

Today at Villa 120, a beautiful wedding between Jessica & Juan took place.

As the bride descended the staircase with her maid-of-honor in tow, the excitement was palpable. Both looking beautiful, they posed for a few pictures before heading outside.

Right out on the lawn, nestled between two pillars topped with flowers, the bride and groom said their vows in front of their intimate wedding party. With their intimate party looking on, their magical moment was captured in a special ceremony.





The flower arrangements were spectacular, a mix of pink, purple and white that could be found all through the wedding party. Thankfully the weather provided a beautiful backdrop to the reception dinner.

Dancing and dinner ensued, with speeches from the Best Man and Maid of Honor. One of the most exciting parts, cutting the cake, proved a testament to the couples happiness.

Memories forever, as each guest signed a photo from the night of their first meeting.

Sweetberry Farm is a great location for your country-style wedding, rehearsal supper or party. Recently refurbished to a very high standard, I've had the opportunity of attending a couple of events: one for Newport Life magazine and the other for Sandpipers.

Sweetberry Farm is located approximately 10 minutes from Villa 120 and is easily accessible on a quiet road, avoiding all the downtown Newport traffic. Brides staying at Villa 120 or brides with a larger wedding would find this a perfect location.

On the other hand, a conference taking place at Villa 120 could enjoy many items off of Sweetberry Farm's lunch menu. Aside from lunch, they have excellent, locally baked goods.

No matter the reason that you would be staying at Villa 120, a trip to Sweetberry Farms is a must-visit place in Newport, providing great food and a relaxing atmosphere.

Work can be fun too! You always have to laugh.

Last week I attended the fabulous Grace Ormonde Wedding Style party in Las Vegas! The event was truly magnificent from the hors d’oeuvres, entertainment, decorations, to the delectable desserts. It truly was an honor to be invited by the talented Grace Ormonde, editor and owner of Grace Ormande Wedding Style Magazine. Below are some inspirational wedding décor ideas from this amazing event, that I thought all brides would be interested in viewing!

May 27th Wedding Party, Rehearsal Dinners, Wedding and Bridal Venue, Bed and Breakfast, Hotel, Lodging, Newport / Middletown Rhode Island, Villa 120

For the last four days and three nights, we had a lovely wedding party of twelve stay over Villa 120, to celebrate the wedding of Mike and Kelly Silverman. We started with the arrival of the wedding party on Friday evening at Villa 120 with a celebratory champagne toast, accompanied by a chocolate fontain with an arrray of fruits and marshmellows.  The complimentary welcome toast set the tone of the evening, and was enjoyed by all.

Many of the guests traveled from New York and Los Angeles to participate in this wedding . At Villa 120 the wedding party was able to use each one of our rooms at their own leisure.  Mike and Kelly's Wedding took place on Sunday May 27th. They had beautiful summer weather throughout the day. All of the bridesmaids had their hair and make up done at Villa 120. The photographer arrived in the afternoon to take pictures of the wedding party throughout the Villa. The wedding was very successful and Mike and Kelly thanked us numerous times not only for the breakfast but also for having a place that they could relax with their friends and relatives.  A picture of the lovely bride Kelly on her wedding day yesterday!

May 20th Wedding, Kosher Jewish Wedding, Rehearsal Dinners, Wedding and Bridal Venue, Bed and Breakfast, Hotel, Lodging, Newport / Middletown Rhode Island, Villa 120

Starting off this summer season, we had a Kosher Jewish wedding at Villa 120 on May 20th. The couple and their families stayed over at the Villa  for two nights. The wedding ceremony of 60 people took place at the Villa, however the ceremony was at the oldest synagogue in the country our very own Touro Synagogue.  The Touro Synagogue is not only a beautiful architecturally but is run by a prestigious Rabbi and professional staff, unbeknown to many of the visiting public you do not have to be orthodox to marry at the synagogue.  

A fascinating experience and learning curve for my two wonderful interns and me.  Having set the tables with full silverware we were then informed that the Rabbi had arrived and the silverware should be boiled!  My interns used to my joking around sat in disbelief and doubt when I first informed them but  on realization we still managed to complete our tasks prior to guest arrival.   It was truly a magnificant wedding, with beautiful sunny weather. The band played  upbeat lively music, and the food was Kosher!   Once the music started, nostalgic memories of Fiddler on the Roof came back as we observed the enthusiastic love of dancing by the Wedding party.  Beneath is a picture of the wonderful flowers by Naomi at Goldengate Florist and how the tables were decorated and set up for the wedding ceremony at Villa 120.
