Newport Antiques Show July 25th - July 27th 2014 - Newport R.I.

The Newport Antiques Show will celebrate its 7th anniversary in the summer of 2014. The Show runs Friday July 25th through Sunday July 27, 2014 at St. George’s School in Middletown, RI. It opens with the elegant Gala Preview Party on Thursday July 24, 2013.

In addition to antiques from esteemed dealers, the 2014 show will feature a loan exhibit entitled Fifty Objects That Shaped Rhode Island History. The exhibit strives to tell the state's story from its founding through the 20th century via such items as Roger Williams' compass-sundial and the shirt Governor Garrahy wore during the Blizzard of 1978.
The 2014 loan exhibit, Fifty Objects That Changed Rhode Island History, will be co-presented by the Rhode Island Historical Society and the Newport Historical Society.

Since 2007, the Newport Antiques Show has culled some of the most elegant and important Americana antiques for its massive annual shows. Show manager Diana H. Bittel, a distinguished antiques dealer in her own right, carefully selects the dealers to be featured, eventually inviting a lucky 40 to showcase their wares. With paintings, furniture, folk art, jewelry, and other one-of-a-kind pieces, antiques aficionados are sure to find an item that complements their home decor, appeals to their sense of history, or gives them a convenient shortcut to Narnia. The show also gives back by benefiting the Newport Historical Society and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newport County.
